Baby Ryan Rockwell
Born 8:16:30 PM, 15 December 2006, La Jolla, California. 8 pounds, 12.2 ounces (3,975g). 20" (51 cm). The technical gobbledygook after each shot is the equipment I used for each photo. Many photographer friends ask. < < Return to Today's Newest Photos 31 August 2008, Sunday
Ryan dropping off images of himself to print at Costco. 1/125 at f/2.8.
Our favorite store, the only retail store necessary. 1/125 at f/2.
Ryan astounds us with his virtuosity at the Casio piano display. 1/125 at f/2.8.
Yikes, this kid thinks he knows Pro Tools, too! 1/125 at f/2.8. Four shots: Nikon D3, 50mm f/1.4 AF-D, NEUTRAL with +1 saturation picture control, normal ADR, auto A3 WB, Program auto, Auto ISO chose ISO 200. it's amazing how well the colors look above, which are JPGs direct from the camera under mixed daylight and metal halide lighting.
Ryan's first trip to Legoland, and especially their new Sea Life Aquarium, which just opened this month.
Legoland is loaded with primary colors.
México! Got pixels? Everything is made of Lego blocks.
Rockefeller Center. Nikon House used to be in the front of the building on the left. Nikon House was the first place that I ever got to see a Nikon 13mm f/5.6 lens. THis was back in the 1970s, and I never saw one again for 30 years until I got to play with another this January for an upcoming review. For all I know, it could have been the same sample of lens.
Downtown Manhattan, all without leaving San Diego.
Now we're in Las Vegas!
Wow, now we're back in New York, NY in Las Vegas.
Legoland's new Sea Life Aquarium, which just opened this month. Everything is super-clean without the wear on the Plexiglas though which you have to shoot elsewhere. THis shot has good gesture, and the for other shots I made (not shown here) I adjusted the WB much redder to compensate for the blue of the water.
(Nikon D3, 28-200mm G at 32mm, Program auto chose 1/125 at f/3.8, Auto ISO chose ISO 6,400.)
(Nikon D3, 28-200mm G at 42mm, Program auto chose 1/250 at f/4.2, Auto ISO chose ISO 2,800.)
28 August 2008, Thursday Ryan's first trip to Sea World.
22 August 2008, Friday I got out the tape measure, and Ryan stands 34" tall.
15 August 2008, Friday Ryan's 20-month birthday.
Matching Daddy, as usual.
A leisurely full breakfast, as usual.
Speed Eating. When Ryan heard mommy talking about how Olympic hero Michael Phelps eats about as much as other endurance athletes like American hero Lance Armstrong, about 12,000 calories a day, Ryan figured he'd show everyone that he also has what it takes to be a champion. (three shots: Nikon D3, 50mm f/1.4 AF-D, NEUTRAL with +1 saturation picture control, normal ADR, auto A3 WB, Program auto chose 1/60 at f/5.6, Auto ISO chose ISO 200, all with SB-400 flash on-camera and bounced off ceiling.)
13 August 2008, Wednesday Ryan hurt himself for the first time. Ryan's been crawling up the stairs for about a year, and walking up and down since the spring, usually holding daddy's hand and the railing. Sometimes he goes for it and will take a few steps freehand. Tonight Ryan preferred instead to crawl very carefully up the stairs, just for fun. Daddy was inches behind him as always to be sure he didn't fall down the stairs. Ryan's hand slipped a little and Ryan bopped his lip on one of the steps. OUCH! Ryan cut his lip. Like all minor facial injuries, it looked pretty bad at first because it bled so profusely, but after crying a couple of minutes just to scare mom and dad, Ryan quickly forgot about it and went about his usual trouble making. He did have a scab on his lip for a few days.
05 August 2008, Tuesday Ryan loves playing with hoses. (Nikon D3, 24-120mm "Streetsweeper" at 95mm, NEUTRAL with +1 saturation picture control, normal ADR, auto A3 WB, Program auto chose 1/250 at f/8, Auto ISO chose ISO 200.)
01 August 2008, Friday Ryan in his own car. (Nikon D3, 50mm f/1.4 AF-D, NEUTRAL with +1 saturation picture control, normal ADR, auto A3 WB, Program auto chose 1/125 at f/2.8, Auto ISO chose ISO 200.)
