Nik Dfine 2.0 Nik Dfine 2.0 Software. Nik Dfine 2.0 noise reduction software really works. It's a Photoshop plugin. It installed immediately in the correct place on my Quad G5 Mac running OS 10.4.11. I installed it, and next time I ran Photoshop it appeared in my FILTER > drop down menu. Let's me just show some examples, cropped from much larger images at 100%. Nikon D3 at Standard NR settings ISO 6,400 (roll your mouse over to compare before and after)
ISO 12,500 (roll your mouse over to compare before and after)
ISO 25,000 (twenty-five thousand, roll your mouse over to compare before and after)
Canon 5D, Pushed in Photoshop ISO 6,400 (roll your mouse over to compare before and after)
ISO 12,500 (roll your mouse over to compare before and after)
ISO 25,000 (twenty-five thousand, roll your mouse over to compare before and after) I didn't bother with any manual settings or tweaks, it looks great. Of course these examples are extreme and loaded with noise. I was playing in Photoshop doing my Nikon D3 vs Canon 5D Comparison at High ISOs, so these examples were already done. You can read the tech details of the images on that page, too. PLUG It helps me keep adding to this site if you get it from this link to Adorama. I couldn't find it at Amazon. If you find all the time I spend on all this helpful, please feel free to help me continue helping everyone. Thanks for reading! Ken
