The E430 has an ultra-efficient, ultra-low emission V-8 that runs silently and economically, as well as having loads of power. Back in its day the magazine reviews called it an "Executive Rocket Ship."

It's always been garaged day and night, and always serviced at the Mercedes dealer, so everything is working and maintained as it should be. I've had my E430 for decades and always given it the service and care it deserves. I've also been a member of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America (even been a vice-president) for over 20 years as well. (Hint: be sure to join the MBCA (tell them I sent you) because you often get a 10% discount on dealer service as well as discounts on new and pre-owned cars, more than making up for the small cost of club membership.)

My E430 has always been so luxurious, silent, comfortable and economical I just couldn't bear to part with it even after I got my 2013 S550 and now 2022 S580.

All About the E430

Being kept indoors means the exterior and interior are just like new, with clear headlights instead of dull yellow ones typical of cars left outside. I took care of my E430 properly, so it looks and drives like new.

I have all its records since new — in my storage locker somewhere. I've only driven it 3,700 miles in the past six years; or an average of 620 miles a year. Just like many car collectors, I take it out about once each month to keep everything charged and working well.

A common problem with these cars is that their LCDs (seen below) get flaky so you can't read the clock or gear selected. No problem here: I service my E430 properly, so when my dashboard displays became flaky, I simply had it replaced at the dealer:
