2003 Audi
A6 2.7 T quattro Bi-Turbo AWD AT5 Can One Car Change the Way You Look at All Cars?
We sold
it for $34,000 on October 20th, 2004 see Audi's site here for details This is my dad's brand-new Audi. It was his pride and joy and has less than 6,000 miles on it. He bought it in June 2003 and still has the original German air in the tires. This Audi is so advanced that service is not due till each year is up or 10,000 miles, and it's all paid for in advance, too. Dad's been a car fanatic since he was a kid. He always got better and better cars, and as an engineer always appreciated all the care that was lavished on the better cars and treated them as well as he treated us. In the past dad always kept his new cars in perfect condition for many years. He always had a list of friends and coworkers who waited for him to get a new car so they could buy his previous one. Cars like this never make it to the classifieds. Since this is still new none of our usual friends so far can afford it! We're still asking around. It has 5,743 miles on it (5,774 as of May 18, 2004) and it's always garaged. We have all the original paperwork and window stickers. The first service for this advanced vehicle isn't due till 10,000 miles or June 2004. You can see Audi's site here for details on the almost identical 2004 model. The car is garaged on Long Island, New York. I could be tempted to deliver it anywhere in the continental United States. The all-wheel-drive system means that when you step on the gas, even if you're in gravel, rain, snow or making a sharp turn, the car just goes confidently in the direction you want it to. It doesn't slip, slide, spin the wheels or in any way feel out of control no matter how hard you push it. It's uncanny how natural and direct it feels. It makes my rear wheel drive Mercedes SL500 feel primitive by comparison, and front wheel drive cars feel completely skittish. This is what the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system (AWD) with EDL (Electronic Differential Lock) and ESP (Electronic Stabilization Program) systems do together. I never realized how unconnected to the road all the other cars I've driven are compared to this Audi. Of course it's still under its new car warranty, and even the first 50,000 miles of maintenance are already paid for. These photos are of dad's actual car on March 20, 2004. Click the images or links and you'll get the camera-original 1 megabyte JPG files at full 2,048 x 1,536 resolution for your careful inspection, complete with EXIF data if you're curious about the focal length and time of day and exposure. Let me know if you'd like it. We're still going down the list of friends before we release it to the general public. I put up this page so our friends could get a better look at it first.
New!! See a 360 degree panoramic QTVR of the complete interior of our car here (250k) or much higher resolution here (4MB). Requires Apple Quicktime player (free download here.) Window Sticker This Audi possesses so many features that they couldn't all fit on the sticker. Of course it has all the conventional luxury items like front and rear fog lamps, Pirelli four season tires and four-wheel disc brakes etc. which aren't mentioned. There's just too much to list.
